A new vehicle has joined the fleet! I am now the prowd owner of a 1981 Chrysler LeBaron Town & Country wood panelled station wagon (Estate to you Brits). Power comes from a 318 V8 and goes through an automatic transmission with cruise control and a column mounted shift. Everything on the car works as it did when it left the plant, even the built in CB radio and 22 year old air conditioning! The interior is as new and more comfy than many arm chairs. even the tools are still in their original plastic bags!
I have looked for photos of the model on the web to no avail so you’ll have to wait for me to take some snaps of the old beast. If you happen to be in this area you might want to watch out for a sort of beige/cream wood panelled gas guzzler. They built these beauties out of real steel in those days.
