Stupid game

Try Bubbels. It is a ridiculously stupid game of popping bubbles and is also strangely addictive. My high score? 166630. Don't follow the link, you have a life to live!

Scott Holt at Scott Street

Last night, me and the lovely wife took a wander down to Scott Street Pub to see the Scott Holt Band play. The three guys were most impressive and played a pretty good set that would have been much better had they been taking matters more seriously. Maybe the reason for their lack of care was the disturbing display of dancing put on by a group who appeared to be from the Crack Addict branch of the Wausau Epileptic Society. PEOPLE! If you have no rhythm for the love of God stay in your seat! The woman in black was scarier than most and did a good job of entertaining the crowd while the speakers distorted the sound to the degree that the notes were hard to hear. Whoever the sound engineer was, he needs a good whack around the head with a 'Quiet the fuck down' stick! It was a great night but in a first recorded case of its kind, we went to the Glass Hat for some peace, quiet and sanity, not the usual description for that bar!

In the time it took to put the last entry together, the weather changed and over an inch of snow fell! "Bloody hell" I hear you say, "He must be realy slow at this web stuff!". On the contrary dear reader, we have a blizzard going on here complete with thunder and lightning! Will this Wisconsin winter never end?

Daytona pics

Here are a few photos of my favorite bikes from the many I saw at Daytona. The first is a real basic springer with an old look to it. Don't know why I like it, it just looks pretty to me (in a good way!). Next is a bike built by Young Choppers and Hot Rods, apparently for the Discovery Channel. I had a good look at their stuff and appreciate their quirky old-time look. The third is just something I saw going past. It stood out for a couple of reasons. It is very clean and uncluttered. The rider was just about the only one I saw who seemed in full control of a chopper of this type, most looked a little wobbly to say the least! Lastly is a showbike that we saw being ridden around. As you can see it looks a different without the down-tube. I'll be putting a few of the Daytona photos in my gallery at some point, a whole bunch more can be found at Custom Chick Choppers in the gallery we set up there.

Nice ride

We happened to see a great number of bikes having to be rescued and brought back to the shop. It was a large concern located kinda close to us with many bikes on display. I hope that the builders of these unfortunate beasts work out their reliability problems soon.

Bike weakest of the Week

Wow!
That is one hell of a party and I find myself looking forward to visiting many more events of this type in future. I expected to see some pretty strange behavior and was not disappointed. The strangest behavior came from a group of guys who were set up close to us. I'll not mention their company name but they were in the business of selling ready made choppers. I can't call these choppers custom as they had a range of models for you to choose from which doesn't strike me as being custom. Their shirts proclaimed that they were the badder than all the other bad people and it is their badness that causes most of this entry.
We were being extremely friendly to anyone who came close enough and one such fellow was looking for goods such as our neighbours sold, rather than our more specific offerings. He was directed in their direction, pockets bulging with oodles of mullah, only to be told by one of the owners that he was (sorry about the language but it is a quote) "just a fucking tire-kicker!" Needless to say these bad-boys didn't make a sale and, having seen many instances of this kind of attitude, I doubt that they made any all week. I thought their prices were too high as well!
These 'unfriendliest of the unfriendly' build some nice bikes which they say aren't made the 'cookie-cutter' way but have model names regardless. I can only assume that the new owner gets to choose their own mirrors and paint scheme. Judging by their website, they are new to the scene and have decided that having a poor attitude will get them their own particular corner of the band-wagon. They have some nice touches to the bikes they offer and I hope for a number of things for them.
1. They cheer the hell up!
2. They live long and prosper!
3. They all get alarm clocks for Christmas!
4. They get a new web designer soon!
Good luck guys. You made interesting street theatre, if not many sales! I hope you all have a lovely summer and always remember that if all else fails, you can always go back to selling furniture and mattresses!
