Boogenstein.com - CSS and XHTML Experiments

Test pages:

This page will be where you can have a look at various experimental pages as I go through the design process. All will be done with CSS and XHTML. Many of the layouts will be borrowed from other sources and modified to suit my needs. On the right are links and info for the pages in question. Your comments and criticisms would be appreciated. As time goes on there will be more to see here, the quantity rising as I learn.

My thanks go out to Eric Meyer and his stunning pages at css/edge for inspiration. Due to the poor standards support of Internet Explorer, some of these pages will look better in other browsers such as Mozilla and Opera. The pages that end up in use on this site will ignore IE but any pages that head for Robin's site will probably be modified to suit the masses.

Homepage

Valid XHTML 1.0!
A test for a Blogger Template for use on Robin's site.
The background fixing works just fine with everything I've tried with the exception of IE. I did add a piece of javascript to make it work in IE but it seemed to have a tendency to crash the page on our machines. Why it only did this sometimes is a mystery and were it not for the fact that a version of this page will end up on Robin's site, I wouldn't have bothered with the javascript. After a lot of messing with it I have removed it.

Robin's cousin has a site that is in desperate need of help! The Original Homepage gets real scary when the code is viewed. I am in the process of Renovation using CSS etc. For the start I am keeping all the contents in roughly the same positions as on the original site. Some items have been edited to avoid repetition and aid accessibility. The code ends up much cleaner and editing the content will be possible without getting a headache! The content of this page, and any it links to, is not of my doing and I take no responsibilty for any claims made here.

Here is the start of the mock-up for Mums Bar in Baltimore, the only place you need when thirsty in Maryland!
